Prayer Service Supports Life

On the 36th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision of the Supreme Court, supporters of human life came together in a non-denominational prayer service at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hopkinsville.  Fr. John Thomas, Pastor of Sts Peter & Paul, and a member of Council 7847 welcomed pastors of three area churches, and stood with them and Fr. Shijo Vadakkumkara, Chaplain of Council 7847.  Readings were done by State Executive Secretary Ron Todd, Webmaster Jim Creighton and several others.  The service was preceded by a short march outside by local children.

The service was sponsored jointly by Sts Peter & Paul Church, the Alpha Alternative Pregnancy Center, the Pennyrile Right to Life, and Monsignor James Willett Council #7847 of the Knight of Columbus.

2008-2009 Installation of Officers
On August 3rd, we installed our officers for the current Fraternal Year.
What a great time!

Business meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the upstairs meeting room in the St. Vincent de Paul house at Sts. Peter & Paul Church,
902 E. 9th Street, Hopkinsville. Social Meetings are the fourth Wednesday.

Our council hosts a large number of council activities throughout the year.

Information about Camp Ondessonk, a terrific opportunity for Catholic families.

We currently support four weekly regular hours of perpetual eucharistic adoration: Tuesday morning from 1:00 am until 3:00 am, and Thursday mornings from Midnight until 2:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Church.  A Knight is present during these hours, with a rotation among the sixteen participating Knights.  Here's the current schedule.  Interested?  See what The Real Presence Association offers, or contact Dick Dymek.

When there is a 5th Sunday in a month, we have a Corporate communion at one of the Sunday masses.

We support blood drives twice a year through the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center (203 W. 17th St., Hopkinsville), and encourage all Knights and families to donate as often as possible.

Annual activities include: Lenten Fish Fries, a Council Picnic,  Christmas Party, collection of food and distribution of food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and support to the parish picnic.
